  How do we define space?

  Space can have limitless meanings, in both a metaphorical as well as a literal sense. But as students, space translates into a different arena altogether - it represents freedom, creativity, and openness, it represents an outlet for self-expression.

   
  Now, you might wonder how a library and space relate to all these vast ideas we just put before you. After all, it is quite easy to think of libraries as old buildings lined with dusty bookshelves waiting to be discovered, with a librarian walking around shushing people down. However, libraries are an intriguing place to analyze space, both in terms of how they are designed, how they are advertised to the community, and how they are utilized. In today’s age, libraries are not merely a space to study, they are in fact a hub to interact, encourage scholarly expression and truly dive deep into the core of what it truly means to be a student. Thus, even as most materials in libraries stand digitized, transformed into a virtual space, the evolving role of libraries highlights the relevance of physical spaces of libraries on university campuses, and in students’ lives.
   

  So, we invite you to explore the various paths relating to space through our libraries, and why we think libraries are an integral part of students’, and in turn campuses’ future.
